"Dr. Crusher here. If this is a medical emergency, please go directly to audio. If not, please leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as possible."
[Allen hadn't been around the evening before. Nor had he returned at all that night. He had said some vague thing about going out, but not much about the details.]
[Well, here he was, early in the morning, clearly trying to be quiet as he comes onto the ship. He's got a bag with him that's been stuffed with a few things including a blanket- and he's very notably still in yesterday's outfit with his hair looking like it hadn't been brushed this morning. When he's on the ship, he makes a quiet bee-line for the kitchen. Particularly, the kitchen's coffee machine.]
[Which man, for someone trying to be sneaky about it, he sure is too groggy to notice if there's someone else in the room]
[Beverly, meanwhile, is sitting at the kitchen table with her usual cup of coffee and bit of toast, watching Allen with great amusement. The rumpled clothing and mussed hair elicits a knowing smirk from her as she takes a sip of coffee. She's halfway tempted to remain silent, just to see how long it takes for him to notice her presence. However, her nosiness gets the better of her.]
Don't worry, I was just teasing! I understand, really I do.[TRY SNEAKING ANYONE BY DEANNA.] Dating doesn't always need to lead to something serious. As long as you're both having fun and enjoy one another's company, that's all that matters.
[Clearly from the state of his attire and his sneaking in, there was a little more to it than "just" watching the races, but thankfully, with her augment unglitched she keeps that thought to herself, knowing that that sort of thing makes him uncomfortable. No waggling eyebrows.]
Unfortunately, I haven't made it to any of the races myself, but they sound like a lot of fun. It's a good choice for a date, especially while you're still getting to know one another.
[Aww Allen! To her credit, Beverly does take him at his word, that all he did was fall asleep.]
Don't be embarrassed! I'm sure he didn't mind. In fact, I'd be willing to bet he found it endearing.
[Partially because it is a truth universally acknowledged that someone you're dating falling asleep on you is adorable and partially because she is a biased space mom who can't imagine Allen's date not liking him.]

Good morning, Allen!

D-Dr. Crusher! I didn't see you there! Morning!

[The smirk turns into a full-blown grin.]
Did you have fun last night?
9/3; Action
Ah...yes! Yes, I did. I went on a date.
9/3; Action
A date! [She exclaims, as if Ino hasn't already been gossiping to her about this.] That's wonderful! Who was the lucky person?
9/3; Action
Um, Clay Terran? Captain of the Vanquish.
[He rubs the back of his neck] It's not really anything serious. Just a couple dates.
action foreverrrr
[So, of course, she pulls out the chair next to hers and pats the seat.]
Why don't you tell me about them?
and ever!!
[He pours himself a cup of coffee before sitting down on the chair she indicated.]
Clay's an astronaut. He's from Earth- Los Angeles? He'd probably go crazy if he found out about the Federation.

"If?" What, are you planning to hide him away from me then?
no subject
It's just...it's not like we're serious, so I'm not really planning to invite him to a crew dinner or anything. [No need to traumatize the man]

[More infernal grinning.]
Of course it helps if they're cute.

He is that, yes.

[Not that she's biased or anything.]
Where did you two go?
no subject
We just went to watch the races on one of the waystations and had a picnic!

Mm, it was fun to watch! Though it's not like there's much else to do right now... [What with being out in the middle of nowhere and everything]
Though, embarrassingly, I ended up falling asleep there. Probably ate too much food.

[He rubs the side of his head; smiling a little.]
He's very sweet. He even went out of his way to learn how to make my favourite food- without me even telling him what it was!

Smart man. As we all know, food is the way to a Blue Fish's heart.
no subject
Amen to that!

So... do you think there will be another date then?
no subject
[Which is positive right??]

I guess- I'm trying not to get my hopes too high. My luck's not very good.
